A Message from the Director:
We are dedicated to the enjoyable task of not only teaching you dance, but also to witnessing the development of your mental and physical growth, coordination, poise, grace and personality. To the parents, we hope that by enrolling your child at Ars Nova you intend to take an active part in helping maintain an enthusiastic attitude in dancing for your child at all times. You must place your trust in us to make proper decisions in your child’s best interest. We trust that your dance experience with us will be a meaningful one.
We are here to teach your child the Art of Dance.
Studio Policies and Procedures
Dancers should bring the following each day:
Proper attire for dance class. Dancers without proper dress attire for class will not be allowed to participate.
Extra water bottle.
Studio rules:
Please do not bring expensive electronics or other valuables to the studio.
Each student must follow the dress code.
No gum chewing in class.
Please help keep our studio clean.
Registration: A non-refundable fee of $80 per student is required yearly at time of registration. $50 discount for additional family members.January registration fee $70
All registration and health forms and registration fees are due prior to your first class starting. If there are any changes during the year you will need to notify us promptly.
Monthly Tuition Payments:
Monthly Dance Class Fees Per Individual Child/Month
Tuition is based on a school year (August 22 – June 10) and PAID IN MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS DUE ON THE FIRST DAY OF EACH MONTH.
The first tuition installment and registration fee are due upon registration.

Class changes and drops
Ars Nova Dance Studio will require all parents wishing to change or drop a class to provide a 30 day notice prior to the next billing cycle.
Please visit our website: arsnovadance.com to fill out a ‘Class Change or Drop Form’ detailing the classes you wish to change or drop and the reason. You can find this form under the tab REGISTER and sub menu FORMS.
Cancellation will be effective 30 days from the drop form submission. Please note, you may be responsible for one additional billing cycle of tuition if the request was not submitted by the 15th of the month. If a class is dropped prior to the 15th of the month, a credit will be applied to your account. Please see the examples below. All change/drop requests must be made via the form, even if you are on a fixed-fee tuition plan. No refunds will be issued for dropped classes, cancelled enrollment, registration fees, dance wear or costumes.
Example 1
You submit a request to drop a class on the 8th of October. This is prior to the 15th of the month, so your account will be credited for dropped classes between October 8th – 31st.
Example 2
You submit a request to drop a class on the 16th of October. This is past the drop deadline for the month. Your account will be charged for fees for one additional tuition cycle on November 1st.

No refunds will be given for classes missed due to illness, injury, vacation, weather, or missed classes.
Private lesson
Ars Nova Dance Studio teachers have varying private lesson rates so please email the Front Desk at studio@arsnovadance.com with any questions. Please know, there will be no private lessons you are not attending either the Studio Program or Company training. If you cancel your private less than 24 hours prior to the start of the lesson, you will be charged.
Schedule Changes:
Changes to your child’s schedule can be made up until November 1st; Thereafter, a charge of $10.00 will be applied to your account for each request made. There are no changes after January 1st and No drops after April 1st.
Business Matters:
Must be directed to our office. To voice any concerns or questions with Director, you must make an appointment for a scheduled meeting. No Instructor or Director is to be stopped before, after or during a dance class with questions. This takes away from scheduled classes and WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Under no circumstance should a parent walk into a dance class room before, during or after a dance class. Thank you ~
Dance Class Attendance and Lateness:
Repeated lateness may result in termination of lessons. A minimum attendance level will be required. If a students misses more than 4 classes without written notices, the school reserves the right to terminate lessons. Students missing more than 4 classes after January will not be allowed to participate in the year-end dance recital.
Sign your child out when you pick them up from class. It is our responsibility to see that your child leaves with the appropriate person each day. Ars Nova Dance Studio staff will ask for identification of the person doing the pick up daily, so parents, or the authorized pick-up person shall present a photo ID everyday. Children will be released only to those authorized by the parent on the child’s Registration Form.
It is the parent’s responsibility to notify the camp of any changes in authorization. If someone other than these people must pick-up your child, a written note must be sent in ahead of time. Those picking up children should be prepared to show identification to Ars Nova Dance Studio staff member upon request. No child will be released to anyone who is not authorized to pick up that child.
Parent’s Responsibility to be aware of Dates and Events
It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all school activities, such as viewing days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the school is open or closed. The school will post all such notices on the “What’s New” bulletin board as well as sending Newsletters via email. The monthly newsletter will also be available at the studio to take home. It is the parent’s responsibility to regularly check these boards to ensure they are informed. It is the responsibility of the parents or adult students to inform the school of any address, telephone, or email address change.
Care of Students
The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for the students. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time before or after classes. Please be prompt when picking up your child.
Pick Up
Parents are responsible for making sure students are dropped off and picked up on time based on the time they registered for.
Students are not to wait outside the premises. No student (under 18 years) is to wait outside or leave the premises unaccompanied by a parent or guardian.
Early Pick-Up
Please refrain from picking your child up early from class. If your child must leave early, please notify the school, on the morning of the designated day with a written note. The staff will have your child prepared to depart at your requested time. Remember that you will still need to sign your child out.
Trial classes:
One trial class allowed per style of dance. First trial class free, each additional trial class $25 per class
Class/Schedule Changes:
We will announce any class schedule changes as early as possible. If some classes are too full and we need to offer multiples of that class or if enrollment in a class is too low we may need to cancel or combine a class. We will make every effort to notify parents as soon as we are able.
Class Cancellations:
Classes with less than five students may be cancelled, combined, or rescheduled at Ars Nova discretion
Extreme Weather or unexpected Interruption of Classes:
If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be added on to the end of the teaching year. No refunds for lessons missed due these reasons will be given.
We will notify parents of cancellations due to weather through email and phone to those email addresses and phone numbers provided on registration forms.
Studio will be closed for holidays.
Substitutions:
The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is ill and the school cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made-up.
Dress Code: Refer to the Dress Code
Dance Attire:
All students are required to wear appropriate dance attire and shoes based on the dance attire form. No jewelry. Please refer to the studio director for dance attire questions.
All dancers are required to have their hair up in a tight bun. If students have bangs that hang in their face they need to be pulled back. If students come to class with their hair down they will be asked to put it up.
Being Prepared for Class & Respectful to Teachers:
Students should be prepared for class 5-10 minutes prior to their class time (in their appropriate attire and shoes with their hair up).
Students must wait outside in the lobby until their class begins to not disrupt other classes.
Bathroom breaks should be taken during the first 5 minutes of class, otherwise it can disrupt the rest of the class (note: children need to be potty trained to attend class). All students need to be respectful of their teachers or they will be asked to sit out.
Parents Watching Classes:
Parents are not allowed to watch class inside the dance room where class is taking place. Parents are asked to wait in the lobby area to avoid distraction.
Photo release/Social Media
Each parent gives permission for their child to be photographed for promotional purposes. All students may be videotaped during classes, rehearsals, and performances. Any concerns need to be directed to the directors. Each parent and student also agrees to NOT place pictures or videos of other students or teachers on the internet or any social networking site without the permission of the student’s parents or the teacher. No student or parent is permitted to represent Ars Nova Dance Studio on any websites or social media. Please tag Ars Nova Dance Studio when using class video or pictures as well as when attending convention/competitions and performances representing Ars Nova Dance Studio.
Emergency Medical Release
Each parent gives permission for emergency medical care of his or her child. Any concerns need to be made in writing and turned into the office prior to the second class.
Religious/Holiday Issues
If you would prefer your child to not be involved in certain classes due to your religious beliefs please let the teachers and studio directors know. We often celebrate a current holiday with special holiday themed stickers, candies, or other goodies handed out at the end of each class. Please also let your child’s teacher know if certain allergies or dietary restrictions exist. We also use holiday music at times.
Personal Items:
Ars Nova is not responsible for any and all items you, and/or your child bring in to the dance studio.
Taking Care of our Studio
Students are asked to pick-up after themselves. There will be specific spaces for coats and bags, items should not be left around the studio floors or waiting areas.
Injuries
In the event of an injury, Ars Nova will administer First Aid treatment by a qualified First Aider. If medical services are necessary and an ambulance is required, the student/parent will incur the costs.
Injuries that occur on the premises will be recorded on an Incident report form. The parent/guardian of an injured student will be notified immediately following class of any injury that occurred. No tuition will be reimbursed due to an injury.
It is understood that dance is an activity with inherent dangers for injury. Our staff is professionally trained and will train students in the safest manner possible.
Ars Nova Events LLC DOES NOT carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all students be covered by their own family’s insurance policy, and if an injury occurs, it is understood that the student’s own policy is your only source of reimbursement.
Liability release
Dance training is demanding on the body. All students run the risk of being injured in class. As a parent and/or guardian of a student, you must agree that you understand these risks and do not hold Ars Nova Events LLC, faculty, board members, and the artistic directors responsible for any injuries, loss of property, or illness during attendance at the school or any related field trips, competition/conventions, or performances.
Illness
We ask that all parents have mindfulness when it comes to bringing your child that might be sick. If your child is ill, please call the studio so that we can let the teacher know not to expect your child in class.
Please do not send your child to the studio if they are sick. Much like school policies, your child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to class. IF YOUR CHILD DID NOT ATTEND SCHOOL DUE TO ILLNESS, PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM TO THE STUDIO!
If your child is at the studio and we determine that they have a fever or not feeling well we will call you to come and pick them up so they do not infect other students & staff. You are always welcome to make-up any missed class at your convenience.
Etiquette:
Dance training is built on standards that reflect respect and professionalism. These standards include listening to your instructor, following directions, and adhering to the required dress code.
We expect our dancers to arrive on time, ready for dance, and to display courtesy to their parents, instructors, and classmates. Any misconduct unbecoming to students, guests, or instructors may result in suspension from class.
Talking, chewing gum, eating, drinking, sitting down, wandering in and out of the room, hanging on the barres, climbing on the mats or leaning against the wall are as unacceptable during a class.
